Once data has been aggregated or de-identified, it is no longer considered personal data under this Privacy Policy, and we may use it for any lawful business purpose, including research, analytics, and product development.

How We Share Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share personal data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers. We share personal data with third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf, including payment processing, cloud hosting, and email delivery. These providers are contractually obligated to use personal data only as necessary to perform services for us and in accordance with applicable law.
  • AI Service Providers. Portions of your learning data and conversational inputs may be transmitted to third-party AI service providers to operate AI-powered features of the Service. These providers process data solely to generate responses and content on our behalf and are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes, including the training of their models.
  • Legal Requirements. We may disclose personal data if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, to investigate fraud, or to respond to a law enforcement request.
  • Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or other similar transaction involving all or a portion of our assets, personal data may be transferred to the acquiring entity or successor.
  • With Your Consent. We may share personal data for purposes not described in this Privacy Policy when we have obtained your consent to do so.

We do not share personal data with advertising networks, data brokers, or any third party for their own marketing purposes.

Artificial Intelligence

The Service includes AI-powered features, such as an AI tutor, automated lesson generation, and personalized learning recommendations. To provide these features, we transmit certain data, including your messages, quiz responses, and learning context, to third-party AI service providers that process this data on our behalf.

These AI service providers are bound by contractual obligations that restrict their use of your data to providing the Service and prohibit them from using your data for training their own models or for any purpose unrelated to the Service.

AI-generated content, including tutor responses and lesson materials, is provided for educational purposes only and may contain errors or inaccuracies. AI-generated content does not constitute professional, legal, or academic advice.

Tracking Technologies and Cookies

We use a limited number of cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for the operation of the Service, including:

  • Authentication cookies to keep you signed in to your account.
  • Session cookies to maintain your session state as you navigate the platform.
  • Preference cookies to remember your settings and display preferences.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or retargeting technologies. We do not participate in ad networks or permit third parties to collect data from the Service for advertising purposes.

Do Not Track

Some web browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals to websites. Because there is no universally accepted standard for how to respond to these signals, the Service does not currently alter its practices when it receives a Do Not Track signal.

Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as reasonably necessary to provide the Service to you. We may also retain personal data as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When personal data is no longer required for any of these purposes, we will delete or de-identify it in accordance with our data retention practices.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that data promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to us, please contact us at support@burtonmethod.com.
